The Case of Marilyn Monroe

BAIT-CAL Films Developing Screenplay for
New Movie Based on 'Memoirs' Book

BC Films has began screenplay development for a movie based upon the amazing new book, "Memoirs of a Deputy Coroner: The Case of Marilyn Monroe". The book tells the amazing true-life story of Lionel Grandison, the Deputy Coroner, who officially investigated Marilyn's case in 1962 and signed her death certificate.

"This is a very exciting time for us," stated one of the film's producers, Geoff Gil. "We are extremely happy for the opportunity to bring this unheralded tale to the big screen."

In 1962, Grandison was the youngest African-American ever to be employed by the Los Angeles County Coroner. Married with three children, his life would be turned upside down after becoming involved in the Marilyn Monroe case. The book details his experiences surrounding her death, including the massive cover-up he witnessed and discovering Marilyn's secret diary.

"The Case of Marilyn Monroe" reveals one man's struggle to find the truth about her death and the conspiracy that tried to keep him quiet. It presents a real life account of Grandison's story and what likely happened the night Marilyn Monroe died.

"We are currently seeking financing for the film project and interest has been extremely high," said Gil. "This is a rare opportunity to tell an African-American story with mainstream appeal. The implications of Grandison's story are far-reaching and involves some of the most prominent names in American History. It will be one truly epic film."
